Question 1

What is Kudos (Politics Made Convenient)?

Accepted Answer

Kudos is a free, non-partisan US civic intelligence web application at https://www.kudosquad.com/ that lets voters look up their official sample ballot, find verified polling places, track federal, state, and local elected officials, inspect OpenFEC campaign finance records, take a political alignment quiz, and learn US civics.

Question 2

Where does Kudos get its election, legislative, and campaign finance data?

Accepted Answer

Kudos sources all civic data directly from verified non-partisan and official government APIs, including the Google Civic Information API v2 for ballots and polling places, Congress.gov API v3 for federal legislation and roll-call votes, the OpenFEC API v1 for Federal Election Commission campaign finance disclosures, and Vote.org for voter registration tools.

Question 3

Why does Kudos use my street address to look up my ballot and representatives?

Accepted Answer

A 5-digit ZIP code often crosses multiple US Congressional districts, state legislative districts, and local precincts. Using a street address allows Kudos to resolve your exact political divisions (OCD-IDs) so your sample ballot, polling location, and elected officials are accurate.

Question 4

Is Kudos affiliated with any political party?

Accepted Answer

No. Kudos is strictly independent and non-partisan. It does not endorse candidates, political parties, or ballot measures.
